How to add code blocks to a note

Code blocks let you add formatted, syntax-highlighted code to a note.

Adding a code block#

Add a code block in any of these ways:

• Choose Code Block from the toolbar block type dropdown.
• Type / on an empty line and select Code Block.
• Type three backtick characters at the start of a line.

Syntax highlighting#

Recollect automatically highlights your code. Hover over a code block to reveal a menu for choosing the language and a button to copy the code.

Choosing available languages#

To control which languages appear in the code block menu, click the gear icon and select Settings, open the Appearance tab, and use Syntax Highlighting to add languages and drag them into your preferred order.
